Nice rucksack

Great amount of pocket/storage areas, nice fabric quality, good use of straps to increase or decrease unused or used space when used. Comfy too.

secure, capacious, just what I needed

I needed a way to carry uniforms, computer, etc. for my commute and this is working very well. It doesn't slide from side to side when I'm riding which makes it better than some I've tried. I like the pockets on the outside, perfect for my water bottles.

Decent quality for the price, adequate performance for my intended purpose

- We like to travel light and this pack plus my small suitcase suffice my packing space needs perfectly.

Fulfills it’s intended purpose almost fully: bought it for dual purpose use as a travel carry-on bag and as my daily hiking backpack / casual day bag / grocery bag when away from home.

PROS:
1. I selected this particular bag for its integrated shoulder strap holders - on one side is a zipper pouch that fits my iPhone 12 Pro, and on the other a web pouch for my DJI Osmo 4 (handheld smartphone gimbal). Super convenient for ease and quick access to celllphone, and for stowing the Osmo when not holding it while hiking. I’ve tried so many other solutions for this purpose to no avail, and this bag/straps solved a long-standing problem.
2. Minimalist and lightweight. All the features I need and none that are useless to me.
3. The external, zippered floor section compartment that holds the netting for a helmet is large enuf to stash my accessory rain-cover into. This also serves to add a bit of cushioning to the flooring (see CONS #4)
3. Chest strap/clip with whistle and minimalist hip belt. I like these because we mostly speed-hike : trail run on our hikes, so this is nice to be able to cinch it up when wanting to.
4. Water bladder compartment with a Velcro hanging strip and a nice shoulder strap tube clip.
5. The back padding (that touches against your back) is minimal and adequate, with four separate contact points and wide channels for cooling airflow between them. I really like this design because I never felt too hot nor that it needed more padding. (and with a light spritz of Lysol or similar after hikes it never smell like a hiking backpack👍)

CONS:
1. The shoulder straps are a few inches too long. Because they are wide for their entire length (as opposed to the regular design of having just the nylon strap beginning just below shoulder pads then down to the lower connection point back to the bag), even when I tighten them as much as possible, they’re still too long for a perfect fit. That said, I would not recommend this bag to a shorter person than my own 5’9’ height.
2. Shoulder straps have no effectual padding. They have a thin layer of sense eva foam that does provide some actual comfort, and when hiking with 2-3 liters of water in a bladder, food, first aid kit, rain shell, etc it was not an issue. But during travel days when I have it loaded the heaviest with carry-on electronics and heaviest items (to keep my weighed bag light😉there are times of discomfort. That noted, I’d recommend to people who buy this bag for its other features but like a lot of padding to bring along accessory shoulder strap pads.
- Caveat for the following ones: this is a minimalist, $40 bag so it’s hard to be too critical - if I wanted lots of features, I’d have paid more for one with them. That said, there’s a few things I think could be included even at this price-point:
3. There’s no padding on the floor of the pack. Often worried about things singing, knocking or breaking when setting it down on the floor. Even a flooring pad of the same shoulder strap’s dense eva would suffice in most cases (read: bring a padded laptop sleeve if using the bag for that purpose)
4. There’s minimal internal organization. I’m actually fine with having just the one single netted zippered compartment inside the bag, but would appreciate an additional small zippered pouch that is a standard, inexpensive feature of almost every bag made.
5. The water bladder compartment is too wide. It is the full width of the bag, which allows the bladder to bounce around a lot…would be nice if it were sewn to be just 8” or whatever is a safe standard of width to hold the bladder a bit more securely.

SUMMARY: I’ve used this bag on two trips spanning 3 months of travel, dozens of mountain hikes in all conditions and lots of use as an every-bag on the trips. The stitching has held up well thru this time, with no visible signs of weak points. It’s proven to be a fine bag for the cash that could be quite a bit better for the price with a few minor, inexpensive updates that I’d noted above, the biggest one being shorter straps and maybe a 5-6 liter smaller version of it, too. I do recommend this purchase (if you’re 5’9” or taller, of course)…
